With the imminent opening of new cafes and restaurants at the Al Majaz Waterfront the destination manager wanted to update the aquatic play facility to handle a greater influx of fun-seeking visitors. But it would have to work within the current 800 sq.m. footprint and be supported by the existing mechanical room. The first addition is an Elevations™ structure with waterslide and a low deck height that enables interaction with ground features and multiple water effects on and around the structure for a total play experience. The second is a giant friendly spider that makes an impressive focal point. It is the first aquatic play experience of its kind in the region, designed to be safe and suitable for children, including easy wheelchair access. Local residents, and some tourists, visit the SplashpadR year-round, particularly in the evening.

Testimonials
« The Park features a wonderful flowers theme. Children have the opportunity to enjoy playing under the aqua dome and chasing their friends with water sprinklers. »
« What makes this system different is that there is no standing water, so there are fewer safety risks. This also enables children with special needs to make use of the facility, even in wheelchairs, so they can participate with their friends. »
