Unibail-Rodamco, owners of the Bonaire Aldaia Shopping Center were challenged by their retailers to create a unique feature that would attract more shoppers and extend their stay, thereby increasing their spending. In keeping with their “Welcome Attitude” motto, Bonaire became the first shopping center in Spain to introduce an aquatic play facility. The zero-depth Splashpad® keeps the water pressure low so children are not soaked right away, but they enjoy themselves so much that they want to stay until they are drenched! The 538 sq.ft. area is well-integrated into the surrounding landscaping and facilities. By enabling families and children to interact with the water in a safe and fun space, visitors to the Bonaire Shopping Center are staying longer than ever before and creating unique playful shopping experiences.
