The DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island wanted to enhance its children’s aquatic play offering. Although the initial plan was to add a Splashpad®, but that ship sailed once they saw the Pirate Ship Elevations™ structure design by Vortex. Installed adjacent to the resort’s beach, the pirate ship is designed to accommodate as many as 200 children with many play-features integrated for children of all ages and abilities. Built with safety in mind, parents can relax stress-free, knowing their children can play, climb and explore. Since the opening of the new aquatic amenity, it has been a tremendous hit. The pirate ship has prompted a significant increase in guest bookings, especially from families and expats from across the UAE. Most significantly, the ship has become an icon for the resort, attracting new visitors.
