Gorman Park was an outdated, underutilized park in the city of Sharonville. The Sharonville Parks and Recreation Department worked with McGill Smith Punshon Architects (MSP) to conduct a needs assessment and build a plan to revitalize the space. The result is a beautiful Splashpad®, playground, shelters, walking paths, and on-site parking.
The Splash pad was particularly welcome because the former community pool had shut down. MSP collaborated with Vortex on the design of the Splash pad as well as the flow-through water management system, selecting a SmartPoint™ No1 Smartflow™ Command Center. This cost-effective all-in-one solution is easy to operate, requires low maintenance, and is engineered to fully integrate with the city’s existing water source.
Many of Vortex’s latest water features were selected, including Ohio’s first installation of Refresh No1. The aquatic play space also features interactive fun with Astra No3, Spiroo, Sunspray No1 and Bamboo Ring. And to ramp up the excitement, children really enjoy the unpredictable Twinsplash! A PlaySafe™ Drain – Press & Play No3 enables kids to active the Splash pad on demand.
The new park, and Splash pad, have been packed and popular from the beginning, reconfirming that Gorman Park has accomplished its goal to fill the Play gap and revitalize the community!
