Recognized for the world’s largest man-made reservoir, Grand Lakes St. Mary’s State Park is a gateway to multiple outdoor activities. Unfortunately, other than a dip in the lake, the campground offered little in terms of play value for children. Administrators decided that additional attractions were a must to increase campground attendance among young families. The picnic area was transformed into a pool; alongside is a 12’ tower with an open flume body slide. Designed for ease and safe access, the smooth ride is an ideal fit for children under the age of 10. Not only did it answer their needs in terms of play value, but it proved to be a very cost-effective solution for the site.
