It’s not often that a school letter-writing assignment leads to a new popular community amenity. But in St Marys, a city of 8,300 in western Ohio, this is exactly what happened. Students petitioned the city council for a Splashpad®, and using a state grant, private donors, and the BuyBoard cooperative program, made it a reality in downtown High Street Park. The highly interactive zero-depth environment includes Explora features in a bold color scheme, and a Water Journey™ Hop. The facility has met every expectation, drawing praise from users and the city alike. It has experienced high attendance levels, with residents enjoying the great community destination. It has also driven more foot traffic to local businesses.

« These kids have had so much of their summer taken away from them due to COVID. This project has been a wonderful addition to the community and lets the kids finally let their hair down. »
