Orrville already had a very popular swimming pool at Orr Park. However, the Wayne County city wanted to provide something more for toddlers and smaller kids, as well as a play space for families outside of regular pool hours.
Working through the NPPGov co-operative purchasing program, the city connected with Vortex to design a vibrant new Splashpad for Orr Park. The purchasing program not only saved Orrville money, it also expedited the entire process, ensuring it could meet a very tight timeline: the community welcomed the new Splashpad in time for its annual July 4th celebrations.
The aquatic play area features a host of features for kids of all ages and abilities, including the iconic Twinsplash and Astra No3. There’s no question the Splashpad has been a huge hit right from opening day. And because access is free, it has been particularly appreciated by families who cannot afford a pool pass.
